Trying to decide...which one should I choose to welcome people to this blog? Help me, faithful readers!!! HELP ME!!!!!!!!

Thanks, y'all, and happy new year!

Byee!

Happy New Year!!!

Lol, isn't this cute?

Anyway, y'all have a happy new year...because I sure won't. Washing machine broke, and water's everywhere. Everywhere. Basement, ground floor...ugh. So now we have no hardwood floor (some demolition people tore all of it out today), no carpet, and the Wii and my computer in the basement are out of commition. You have NOOO idea how annoyed my brother was. No Guitar Hero? OMG, SOMEBODY CALL THE POLICE!!!

Anyway, hope you all have a great (Neopets) New Year, and best wishes from everyone (me) at Green Freax United. Oh, and save electricity, too!!!

Byee. :P

OMG, this is hilarious! Go here for the most HILARIOUS website I've ever seen! Okay, not really. It's really cheesy. But I'm just all for cheesy stuff.

BTW, if you're reading this: NEVER TAKE CTI IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. IT'S THE DUMBEST CLASS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, like I don't know how to type or make a PowerPoint? Come on. That's what I get for not turning in my exploratory form, I guess. Sigh. At least it's sorta an easy A?

Okay, not really, they're really, really cool, but I mean, at ten in the morning? You've GOT to be kidding me. But nooo...I'm not even sure if I have them today. Ha! Ha! And triple ha!

Wow. I'm not hungover, really. I swear to God I'm not. Just sleeeepy.

BEAUTIFUL!!!

kiss the rain- Yiruma

OMG!!!!

Seriously, you have GOT to listen to this. The whole thing. It made me cry, it's so pretty. Not even kidding. It's just...beautiful. Sorry. I play piano, so that tells you all you need to know about my personality. Lol.

So you liked it, right? Right? RIGHT?! If you didn't, you're mentally unstable. Or maybe I am...because I hate the Twilight movie. But this has nothing to do with Rob Pattinson, except he played it...ugh...he doesn't deserve this song.

Anywho, TTFN!!!

A Green Freak's Blurb

Heyy!!! Just in case you're wondering, yes, I AM INDEED in Canada at this exact moment. Even though there's only an hour difference, it's still really tiring. It's 8:01 right now...now 8:02...here. So if that's what it says on the little thingie under this post, move it back an hour. Not literally. Figuratively. It's an hour behind there. But if it says 7:01 (ahem, 7:02), then, hey, it's still set on American-Illinoisese time. So great!!!

My cousin, Veronica, and I were reunited on the day after we arrived, the 25th, so now we're best buddies again. If Veronica's reading this (because I told her to, lol jkjk) then hi, Veronica!!! Sorry, I'm like REALLY tired. I've been up all night thinking about this drawing of a flower I REALLY REALLY REALLY need to draw for my grandma's birthday. Wow. Pathetic, isn't it? But vacations are all about pathetic relaxation and fun, so ha. :P

Anyway, apparently I'm amused very easily. My brother and I were having a laughing contest in the car on our way home from this city (that I will most certainly NOT be saying, just that it starts with a B and ends with anff) and I lost. Badly. I started laughing before we even started. And then I stopped and started laughing again for no reason. Then I got in trouble for being a distraction while driving. But what the hey. I got ice cream to shut me up. Now THAT'S strategy.

Anywho, talk to y'all later!!! (Did I really just say that?)

The Original Or The Cover...the complete analysis

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJv5qLsLYoo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIKEJkFNgyQ

The original...or the cover...hmmmmm...

Well, the cover, obviously!!! Who doesn't like Flo Rida?? That's what I'd like to know!!! JERKS, THAT'S WHO!!!!!!!

Sorry, I'm sleeeeeepy right now. We're leaving for Canada at like three in the afternoon today, so I've got time to kill. The anticipation is KILLING ME!!! I JUST WANT TO GET ON THE PLANE!!!!!!!! I'm so hyper right now, I'm actually looking forward to going through security. *shudder* Scary.

Anywho, I'll shut up. For now. For a few minutes. Katy Perry's on the Today Show at the moment singing Hot 'n Cold, so maybe I'll go make fun of her. Then resume my digressing.

~The Green Freak

LOL!!!!!!

Just check this out, people. It's actually slightly entertaining.

What Am I? Part Two

I'm as small as an ant,
as big as a whale.
I'll approach like a breeze,
but can come like a gale.
By some I get hit,
but all have shown fear.
I'll dance to the music,
though I can't hear.
Of names I have many,
Of names I have one.
I'm as slow as a snail,
but from me you can't run.

I am a shadow.

What is the beginning of the end, the end of time, the middle of yesterday, and nowhere in tommorrow?

The letter E.

Three people check into a hotel. They pay $30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager suddenly remembers that the room rate is $25 and gives $5 to the bellboy to return to the people. On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that $5 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets $2 and gives $1 to each person. Now each person paid $10 and got back $1. So they paid $9 each, totalling $27. The bellboy has $2, totalling $29. Where is the missing $1?

We have to be careful what we are adding together. Originally, they paid $30, they each received back $1, thus they now have only paid $27. Of this $27, $25 went to the manager for the room and $2 went to the bellboy.

What Am I?

I am related to the water,
But I am not wet.

I am related to shadow,
But I am multicolored.

I am an illusion,
But what you see is real.

What am I?

A mirror.

Green Freak Out...

Okay, so as anyone who knows me knows (?), every summer I take a trip to CANADA!!! All of my relatives and stuff live up there. Well, everyone related to me in any way, except for me, my little brother, and my parents. Anyway.

I'm going in approximately six days. So, for those of you who haven't figured it out yet, I won't be here. Then. Maybe I'll post from Canada, maybe not. Whatever. Don't really care. So if you post a comment and I don't reply for a while, I'm in Canada. No biggie.

Sorry about chewing your ear off. Just go have a great summer, everyone!!!! :P

Adopted!!!

Okay, everyone, I have some news: Green Freax United has sponsored a penguin!!! There's this awesome website called www.penguinbros.com and it's basically you adopt a penguin that hatches on a certain day, and then you sponsor a real live penguin to save it!!! It's not one of the hi-tech ones where it tracks it for you, but it's still REALLY cool!!! So tell all your friends and your enemies to adopt a penguin egg today for a chance to sponsor a real live penguin!!!

Impossible Quiz Tips

  1. Skim over the answers briefly on the link I already gave you. Read the really long ones, because those are usually the action ones where you have to do something.
  2. DON'T USE YOUR SKIPS!!! Unless you pick one up on the green comet one, you can't use any of them, because you'll need them for the last question. ;)
  3. When there's a timer, do what you have to do, and DO IT FAST!!! If there aren't any answers or questions, chances are you have to click something. On the toenail one, you click on each nail, "trimming" them. You have to get it done. FAST.
  4. If the question isn't timed but there's no question or answers, slide your mouse over the screen. The lightening rod one? Slide it up and down the lightening rod until lightening hits it. The cat one? Slide the mouse up and down the cat's back to pet it, until the bar goes all the way up. Then click repeatedly on the cat.
  5. On the "don't touch the _" ones, well, you heard it! The pink one is hardest, but I figured out (in my FIRST try!!!!! :D) that you right click and go over the menu thing that pops up for the "bridge" it hints about. NOTE: This also works for the comet one. Go into the lower righthand corner over the weird part that you can't touch and right click. Wait for the comet and touch it with the mouse.

Good luck, y'all!!! (Omg, I can't believe I just said y'all.)

Eco Font

Spranq Eco Font saves (on average) 20% more ink than any other font currently available. It’s free to download off of www.ecofonts.eu for Mac and PC, so try it now! It’s basically made up of circles instead of being solidly one color, so it uses less ink, therefore being better for the environment!!! I know; awesome, right? So go to the website and download it! Oh, and send the link to all your friends...'cause it looks just like this except it looks grayer. 'Cause it's made up of circles? :P
Ciao!!!

~The Green Freak

Wall Ball

Bored? Try this game I just made up!!! Well, not just. I've been playing is with my brother for about a month. We just worked out the kinks. :P

Materials:

a closed garage door or sturdy wall
an inflated lightweight playground ball
one to three people

How To Play:

The three people playing line up along the garage door a yard or two away from each other and the garage. The first player (it doesn’t matter which) throws the ball at the garage door. If it hits the door, it may bounce up to two times before another player hits it back to the door. If it hits the wall around or above the garage door, a player must hit the ball before it touches the ground. If the ball lands on the roof and slides down, it may hit the ground one time before a player must hit it back towards the garage door. A player may only hit the ball five times to him or herself, and the ball may not be hit more than once before it hits the garage door again. The game continues until the maximum number of bounces has been reached, a ball is missed, or the ball is lost.

(NOTE: If playing against a wall, preset a determined point where the “garage door” would be and where the “roof” and “wall” would be. A slight variation is just hitting the ball against the wall like normal, and only stopping the game if the ball is missed or lost.)

Scoring:

The object of the game is to have the least amount of points at the end of each round. A point is given to a player when he or she drops the ball, misses the ball, or allows the ball to bounce an exceeding amount of that allowed. The points may be kept by a scorekeeper, or the game may be interrupted to allow one player to record the score.

(NOTE: If playing single—with one person—a slight variation is to reach fifty points, a point gained by the ball hitting the garage door. Each time the ball hits the wall or roof, a point is lost.)

Tips:

When serving from the far right or left sides, throw the ball at an angle to the garage so that it hits in front of the middle player, or the center of the space in between two players. It will reflect back to the player opposite from you.
When the ball rolls off of the roof, call “Got it!” to avoid being injured or run into by another player.
Using a lightweight ball will be beneficial: It bounces easier, travels farther, is easy to hit, and won’t get you in trouble when you accidentally dent the garage door because of the weight. ;)

Enjoy, guys!!!

The Impossible Quiz

Are you bored? Do you have absolutely nothing to do? Well, try the Impossible Quiz! It's a quiz that's, hey, IMPOSSIBLE. I mean, hey, nothing's impossible. But it's REALLY hard. And I don't know anyone who's gotten through it. (But they have answers on the Internet...)

So anyway. Try the Impossible Quiz. And, if you get fed up with that, try the Impossible Quiz TWO!!! If you get bored of both of them (trust me; you won't finish them. Lol, now you're all going to try, aren't you?) you're out of luck. No more quizzes. Unless Splapp-Me-Do makes some more. Don't ask. Please.

Anywho, go try those out, people! Just thought I'd tell ya. :P

50 Fun Websites

I now present to you...the FIFTY FUN WEBSITES CHALLENGE!!! Dunh-dunh-duh-duh-duh!!! :P. Okay, NOW what am I blabbering on about? Well, the Fifty Fun Websites Challenge was first suggested by a young girl in Australia, who was bored one day and posted something on her MySpace about exciting new websites. Pretty soon, even Switzerland was involved! Thus, the Fifty Fun Websites Challenge was born! Every person reading her MySpace was responsible for five fun websites. Then, they'd comment them and it would be posted for real! (Note: This story is one hundred percent factually false.)

Basically, I'm looking for new or exciting websites. And DON'T try to throw bored.com at me, because I'm sure EVERYONE knows about that one. (Or do you...?)

So. Find a website, comment it on this or any newer post, and bada-bing, bada-boom, you'll be famous and have a gazillion dollars. Well, not really. But it'll be fun, you know?

Here's something that might help you out. It's a great starter, but try to find some you actually came across by chance, okay? I'm not really aiming for fifty. More like ten. Or five. Or ONE!!! Is that so hard? I think not.

Smell ya later!

Fortune Cookies

http://www.fortunecookiestore.com/mall/c100/s2935/

Followers

Okay, for anyone reading this...well, I should stop saying that. Obviously this is for everyone reading this or I wouldn't be posting. If I'm posting to a specific person it might be different, but...well, I'm rambling. This is for everyone. Enjoy.

We need followers, people!!! If you've got a Google account or an AIM account or a Blogger account (or Twitter or Facebook or MySpace, etc.) all you have to do is click on the gosh darn "Follow" button! How hard is that? It's not just there to look pretty, people! So if you're one of those people who think, "Hey, that's a nice button. Hm, must be there for decoration. I don't have to click on it," can go fall in a ditch (after following, of course). So follow, please!!!!!!! :P

Anyway, I just got back from a shortened camping trip in Wisconsin. It was fun, 'sept we had to go home early on account of that stupid thunderstorm that was coming. Apparently the lifetime warranty on our tent wasn't good enough to cover water damage due to storing a wet tent on top of a car for four hours, which we would have done had it not been for the weather station on the radio. (Thank you, Eric and Kathy!!!) So yeah. Waterproof tents and four-hour-on-top-of-the-car-in-a-waterproof-bag-trips do not bode well together. (Sorry, word of the day!!!)

Smell y'all later!!! 'Cause I might be going to Canada next week! Whoo-hoo!!!!! :P

Fun Facts

1)More than 20,000,000 Hershey's Kisses are wrapped each day, using 133 square miles of tinfoil. All that foil is recyclable, but not many people realize it.
2)McDonald's saves 68,000,000 pounds of packaging per year just by pumping soft drink syrup directly from the delivery truck into tanks in the restaurant, instead of shipping the syrup in cardboard boxes.
3)Rainforests are being cut down at the rate of 100 acres per minute.
4)A single quart of motor oil, if disposed of improperly, can contaminate up to 2,000,000 gallons of fresh water.
5)You can walk 1 mile along an average highway in the United States and see about 1,457 pieces of litter.
6)The Washington, DC-based Institute For Local Self-Reliance calculates that recycling creates 36 jobs per 10,000 tons of material recycled compared to 6 jobs for every 10,000 of tons brought to traditional disposal facilities. (6 times higher employment!)
7)A typical family consumes 182 gallons of pop, 29 gallons of juice, 104 gallons of milk, and 26 gallons of bottled water a year. That's a lot of containers -- make sure they're recycled!

Okay, guys, this is the last of them. I think. Well, probably not. But the website has been exhausted. The SEAC might have more, but I really don't know. These facts are on their site. Also, look at these interesting facts. Finally (I know, this is the last one. Google is wonderful) there's this one, but those are just random facts with something to do with the whole theme here. :P

Smell ya later, guys!!! :P

~The Green Freak

Not-So-Fun Facts About Landfills

1)The first real recycling program was introduced in New York City in the 1890s. The city's first recycling plant was built in 1898.
2)About one-third of an average dump is made up of packaging material.
3)The U.S. is the #1 trash-producing country in the world at 1,609 pounds per person per year. This means that 5% of the world's people generate 40% of the world's waste.
4)Roughly 90% of landfill contents are recyclable.
5)Out of ever $10 spent buying things, $1 (10%) goes for packaging that is thrown away. Packaging represents about 65% of household trash.
6)On average, it costs $30 per ton to recycle trash, $50 to send it to the landfill, and $65 to $75 to incinerate it.
7)Americans generate and throw away 9 times as much waste as does a person in Africa or Central America, but we also generate two to three times the amount of waste as people living in industrial countries with a comparable or better standard of living as us.

~The Green Freak

Fun Facts About Glass!!!

1)Every month, we throw out enough glass bottles and jars to fill up a giant skyscraper. All of these jars are recyclable!
2)The energy saved from recycling one glass bottle can run a 100-watt light bulb for four hours. It also causes 20% less air pollution and 50% less water pollution than when a new bottle is made from raw materials.
3)A modern glass bottle would take 4000 years or more to decompose -- and even longer if it's in the landfill.
4)Mining and transporting raw materials for glass produces about 385 pounds of waste for every ton of glass that is made. If recycled glass is substituted for half of the raw materials, the waste is cut by more than 80%.

Enough said.

~The Green Freak

Fun Facts About Plastic!!!

1)Americans use 2,500,000 plastic bottles every hour! Most of them are thrown away!

2)Plastic bags and other plastic garbage thrown into the ocean kill as many as 1,000,000 sea creatures every year!

3)Recycling plastic saves twice as much energy as buring it in an incinerator.

4)American throw away 25,000,000,000 styrofoam coffee cups every year.

Eye-opening, aren't they? Still more, guys!!!

~The Green Freak

Fun Facts About Paper!!!

1)To produce each week's Sunday newspapers, 500,000 trees must be cut down.
2)Recycling a single run of the Sunday New York Times would save 75,000 trees.
3)If all our newspaper was recycled, we could save about 250,000,000 trees each year!
4)During World War II when raw materials were scarce, 33% of all paper was recycled. After the war, this number decreased sharply.
5)If you had a 15-year-old tree and made it into paper grocery bags, you'd get about 700 of them. A supermarket could use all of them in under an hour! This means in one year, one supermarket goes through 60,500,000 paper bags! Imagine how many supermarkets there are in the U.S.
6)The amount of wood and paper we throw away each year is enough to heat 50,000,000 homes for 20 years.
7)Approximately 1 billion trees worth of paper are thrown away every year in the U.S.
8)The average household throws away 13,000 separate pieces of paper each year. Most is packaging and junk mail.
9)The 17 trees saved (above) can absorb a total of 250 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air each year. Burning that same ton of paper would create 1500 pounds of carbon dioxide.
10)The construction costs of a paper mill designed to use waste paper is 50 to 80% less than the cost of a mill using new pulp.
11)Each ton (2000 pounds) of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 kilowatts of energy, and 7000 gallons of water. This represents a 64% energy savings, a 58% water savings, and 60 pounds less of air pollution!

Again, guys, hope you enjoyed it! There're more facts to go, so stay tuned!!!

~The Green Freak

Fun Facts About Metal!!!

1)Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours -- or the equivalent of a half a gallon of gasoline.

2)During the time it takes you to read this sentence, 50,000 12-ounce aluminum cans are made.

3)Once an aluminum can is recycled, it can be part of a new can within six weeks.

4)An aluminum can that is thrown away will still be a can 500 years from now!

5)There is no limit to the amount of times an aluminum can can be recycled.

6)We use over 80,000,000,000 aluminum pop cans every year.

7)Every ton of recycled steel saves 2,500 pounds of iron ore, 1,000 of coal, and 40 pounds of limestone.

Enjoy, guys!!! More facts on the way about other stuff! :P
